Musee du Quai Branly
New museum dedicated to the arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas
The city's newest museum, dedicated to the Indigenous arts of Africa, Oceania, Asia and the Americas, installed in a striking new four building garden complex. Nearly ten years in the making, this elegant footbridge-like edifice designed by architect Jean Nouvel will encompass nearly 300 000 fascinating objects.
The building, which is surrounded by hundred of trees, also boasts a spectacular vertical garden featuring more than 15000 plants of 150 species. All of this makes the Musee du Quai Branly the perfect getaway for thtose wishing to momentarily escape the hurly-burly of the city while enjoying an introduction to, and understanding of the works, objetcs and artifacts of peoples and civilizations from far off lands.
