From January 18 to February 18, 2017, the Opera de Paris is organizing a new show of the famous tree-act Romantic opera Lohengrin by the prominent German composer Richard Wagner (1813 – 1883).

The performance which will take place at the Opera Bastille in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, will be made possible thanks to the mutual effort of the Musical Director of the Opera National de Paris who will be conducting the performance Philippe Jordan as well as the popular German director Claus Guth.

Lohengrin was performed for the first time on 28 August 1850, at the Staatskapelle Weimar, in Germany. It was at that time directed by the prolific musician Franz Liszt and regarded a successful innovation in the world of opera as well as a turning point in the life and career of Wagner.

Lohengrin at the Opera Bastille lasts for 265 minutes approximately and includes 2 intervals.
